About Rizuki Cosplay
Rizuki was born & raised on Long Island, New York. Her alias, “Rizuki,” comes from her role-playing days on America Online. She started cosplaying in 1998 but didn’t “officially” dive in until her first New York Comic Con in 2009. She is known for her Sailor Moon cosplays and her contributions to the local cosplay community. Her focus is to motivate and empower cosplayers of all ages to dive in and be creative within the community. Cosplay is for everyone regardless of age, gender, body type, skin color, etc. Rizuki works hard within the local community to enforce that message especially through her workshops and panels held at various libraries and conventions.
Rizuki facilitates panels and workshops at multiple conventions and geeky events. These include I-CON, AnimeNEXT, New York Comic Con, CopiaCon, Sy-Con, Long Island Mini Maker Faire, and EmCon Anime Festival. The topics have discussed Cosplay Positivity, Cosplay 101, The Rise of d.Va, Cosplaying During a Pandemic, as well as various others. The goal of these panels and workshops is always to provide an engaging discussion with attendees to motivate and build community. She also aims to provide resources, inspiration, and information about the hobby.
